ABOUT THE PLANHAZARD MITIGATION PLANThe City of Myrtle Beach is working to update its hazard mitigation plan, which is required by FEMA every five years. The purpose of the plan is to provide a framework for community officials to use for reducing vulnerability to natural hazards. Representatives from the local government and other key stakeholder organizations will be reviewing the existing plan over the coming months to ensure it continues to reflect community goals for mitigation. A copy of the existing plan (2016) can be found at the link below.
For the 2021 update of the plan, this website was created and is intended to serve as a repository for material collected and produced through this update cycle. It will provide the public with a source of information on the process and progress of the update.
